When it comes to NBA advertising, the league has surprisingly little leverage over its players’ time off-court—which kinda makes sense. I mean, why would the NBA spend big skrilla to promote its superstars, when brands like Nike, Under Armour and Adidas pump millions into their advertising to show the same players? 

Consequently, we often couldn’t shoot the players for our ads. Rather, we ended up poring over countless hours of game footage to bring ideas to fruition. In other words, we didn’t let that stop us.
